We are two students at Tesla STEM High School. As a part of the HOSA chapter, we are trying to destigmatize and spread resources about peer/parental pressure. Diya Modi
Co-Founder
Diya Modi is a sophomore at Tesla STEM High school. She has a passion for science - especially psychology and chemistry. Diya is also very interested in community service and mental health advocacy. Outside of school, you can find Diya dancing competitively, writing music, hanging out with friends, or reading.
Riya Singh
Co-Founder
Riya Singh is a sophomore at Tesla STEM High School who has a passion for learning, psychology, and helping others. Outside of school, you can find Riya playing tennis, cooking something unhealthy, stressing out about school, and constantly craving an iced coffee. Riya also loves playing the piano, consuming sushi, and watching Netflix.
Why?
Riya and Diya both have a passion for helping others, and serving the community. They have experienced, and seen many of their peers go through familial and peer pressure. They know that it's a very serious issue, however, it's one that gets swept under the rug most of the time. Their movement: "Surface Pressure" aims to help teens facing similar issues by destigmatizing the topic and providing helpful resources.
